NYC files plans for $16M in rehabs to three school buildings

The New York City School Construction Authority, on July 7 and 8, filed three permit applications for $16 million worth of renovations to three buildings in NYC.

The first plans, pre-filed on July 7, call for a rehab of a 70-foot tall, 4-story, building at 93-02 69th Avenue in Forest Hills.

The project is described in the filings as: exterior TC and masonry repair, clean, repoint, restore site regrading and below grade flood elimination, rebuild two areaways, apply sheet waterproofing, inject grout, seal cracks, repair interface between foundation and walls. Concrete repair, repair to exterior stairs and ramp, interior repair. Replace roof and flash repair. Remove ash hst. lintels and caulk. No change use egress occ. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $7,000,000.

The second plans, pre-filed on July 7, call for a rehab of a 33-foot tall, 3-story, building at 209 East 109th Street in East Harlem.

The project is described in the filings as: m083-replacement of oil fired heating plant with new gas fired heating plant. replace vacuum pumps & motorized dampers. Remove oil tanks, oil pump and assoc piping. New DDC climate control system. No change in use, egress or occupancy. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $4,500,000.

The final plans, pre-filed on July 8, call for a rehab of the 60-foot tall, 4-story, building at 31 New York Avenue in Bedford-Stuyvesant.

The project is described in the filings as: flood elimination work to include chemical injection grout and face brick replacement. Roof work to include removal of gravel, roofing, roof drains, replace pester, paint, flashings. Parapet work to include replace face brick, clean and replace roof terra cotta, masonry work, and coping. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $3,575,985.
