NYC SCA files plans for a 70K sf school building in Fordham

New York City School Construction Authority, on May 7, filed a permit application for construction of a 70,524-square-foot school building at 2075 Webster Avenue in Fordham.

The plans call for the construction of a 69-foot tall, 4-story, school building.

The project is described in the filings as: PS 163X – herewith filing four-story new school building.

Building plans state the cellar will have a classroom, office, and storage space. The first floor will have classrooms, office space, a kitchen, servery, and cafeteria, locker rooms, and storage. The second floor will have classrooms and a staff lunch room. The third floor will have class and office space, while the fourth floor will have classrooms, offices, a gymnasium, a library, and additional storage space.

A portion of the tax lot is occupied by the Arthur A. Schomburg elementary school, according to the city’s GIS mapping system.
