NYC finishes $7.8M multi-floor rehab of a hospital on Roosevelt Island

New York City Health + Hospitals, on September 9, formally completed a $7.8 million rehabilitation of several floors of a hospital building at 900 Main Street on Roosevelt Island.

The plans, pre-filed on July 31, 2017, call for a rehab of floors one through three as well as space outside of the 114-foot tall, eight-story, building.

The project is described in the filings as: filing herewith for new boilers, three new fuel storage tanks located outside of building, mechanical and plumbing work as shown on drawings filed herewith. No change in use, egress or occupancy — Phase 2. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $7,760,000.

The architect listed is CDM Smith.

The hospital, which opened in 1996, has 815 beds.

NYC Health + Hospitals recently completed a $20.7 million rehabilitation of multiple floors of the Gouverneur nursing and rehabilitation facility at 227 Madison Street in Chinatown.
