NYCHA finishes $2.9M rehab of 32-unit Mott Haven building

NYC Housing Authority, on September 21, formally completed a $2.9 million rehabilitation of a 32-unit residential building at 443 East 137th Street in Mott Haven.

The plans, pre-filed on September 28, 2018, call for a rehab of the cellar and all floors of the 40-foot tall, four-story, building.

The project is described in the filings as: application filed for minor alterations to apartments including cabinet and door replacements, lobby finishes, plumbing fixture replacement, exhaust replacements, window replacement, repair roof and new landscaping. No change in use, egress or occupancy. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $2,877,000.

Newman Design Group was behind the architecture for the project.

No plans have been filed since December of 2018 at the property, which has been in the NYC HA’s possession since the early 1970s.
