New Empire Corp. files plans for 116-unit mixed-use building in LIC

New Empire Corp., on June 23, filed a permit application for construction of a 116-unit, 93,514-square-foot mixed-use building at 24-03 Queens Plaza North in Long Island City, Queens. Bentley Zhao, chairman and CEO of New Empire Corp., filed the plans.

There have been 28 new building plans filed in the neighborhood in the previous 12 months.

The developer paid $25.7 million to Ciampa Organization for the development site in January 2022.

The plans call for the construction of a 218-foot-tall, 19-story building and were filed with the New York City Department of Buildings under job number Q00674762.

The development site spans multiple tax lots. The lot has a width of 369 feet.

The project is described in the filing as: filing to erect a new building.

Per the plans, the ground floor of the building will have a lobby and retail store. The second floor will have seven dwelling units, floors three through 19 will each have eight dwelling units per floor.

The architect listed is Tang Studio Architect LLC.

The property was acquired with two other properties for $25.7 million on January 24, 2022.
