Mitsui Fudosan permitted for $6M project to add auditorium, up office space at 1251 Sixth Ave.

Mitsui Fudosan, on September 14, was given a permit for a $6 million project to add an auditorium and increase office space in the 1.8-million-square-foot office building at 1251 Avenue of the Americas in Midtown West.

The plans, pre-filed on March 10, call for work on floors 10 and 12 of the 733-foot tall, 54-story.

The project is described in the filings as: herewith filing to show change of use and number of people on 10th and 12th floor. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $6,013,703.

The plans call for an auditorium to be constructed on the 10th floor of the building, while office space will be increased on the 12th floor.

IA Interior Architects is the architect listed.

In May, the firm completed an $8.5 million rehab of 50th floor for Waterfall Asset Management at the building.

Mitsui Fudosan has filed 22 A1 and A2 rehab plans so far in 2020.
