Mark Shakarov permitted to demolish Morrisania house, ahead of 48-unit mixed-use development

Mark Shakarov through the company 1281 Hoe Avenue LLC, on January 11, was given a permit for the demolition of a building at 1281 Hoe Avenue in Morrisania.

The plans, pre-filed on September 11, 2020, call for the demolition of a building.

The project is described in the filings as: full demolition of existing house.

On October 22, the developer filed a permit application for construction of a 48-unit, 24,305-square-foot mixed-use building at the site.

The ground floor of the building will have a lobby, recreation room, and an ambulatory diagnostic center, per the plans. The second floor will have six dwelling units, while floors three through eight will each have seven dwelling units per floor.

Gerald J. Caliendo Architect is the architect listed on the new building filing.

The property was acquired for $900,000 on October 1, 2020.
