L+M, Type A Projects, BronxWorks receive additional permits for 542-unit Bronx Point

L+M Development Partners, Type A Projects, BronxWorks, and the City of New York on May 12, were given a permit for construction of a 542-unit, 500,725-square-foot mixed-use building at 575 Exterior Street, dubbed Bronx Point in Concourse Village, the Bronx. Jhaelen Hernandez-Eli of the NYC EDC filed the plans.

The permit issued was a plumbing permit. The development team received initial new building and foundation permits earlier this year.

The public-private partnership’s development has been planned for years and has received a series of awards for its design among other accomplishments.

According to L+M’s website, the affordable housing building will include educational spaces for youth operated by BronxWorks and CityScience, along with retail space.

The plans, pre-filed on February 12, 2019, call for the construction of a 235-foot tall, 23-story mixed-use building.

The project is described in the filings as: herewith filing new mixed-use building as per plans.

According to the plans, the ground floor of the building will have a lobby, lounge, retail space, community facility space, museum and classroom space, and office space. Other amenities in the building include a series of terraces, an exercise room, restaurant space, and a children’s room. Dwelling units will span floors three through 24.

S9 Architecture and Engineering, PC is heading the design team.
