Leser Group permitted for $6.4M fit-out for school in SI

The Leser Group, on July 1, was given a permit for a $6.4 million fit-out of for an educational center in a commercial building at 10 Elm Street in Edwin Markham Gardens in Staten Island.

The plans, pre-filed on June 27, 2019, call for work on the cellar and all floors of the 40-foot-tall, three-story building.

The project is described in the filings as: interior fit-out for 3K educational center. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $6,419,115.

Design Resources Group Architects is listed as the architect.

Last year the developer filed plans for a $2 million change in use and vertical expansion of the building. According to the plans, the building will go from 42-feet tall and 14,770-square-feet to 54-feet tall and 17,530-square-feet. Additionally the building will be converted from a commercial manufacturing building with office space to an educational building.

John Schimenti PC is the architect named.
