REEC files demo plans for seven-building Nolita assemblage
UPDATED 5:35 a.m., October 3, 2024: Brandon Miller’s Real Estate Equities Corporation, on June 7, filed seven permit applications for the demolition of seven buildings at 156 to 166 Bowery in Nolita.
Kinsmen Property Group, a joint venture between Madison Group and State Building Group, purchased the properties in 2017 and 2018. At the time of the transaction, the developer stated there were no immediate plans for the site.
In September of 2020, Real Estate Equities Corp. signed a 99-year ground lease valued at $50 million with Kinsmen Property Group for the seven parcels.
The first plans call for the demolition of a four-story building at 160 Bowery.
The project is described in the filings as: full demolition of building using hand held and partial mechanical means to assist as per plans filed herewith.
The property was acquired with four other properties for $30 million on November 15, 2018.
