Kaufman Astoria receives TCO following construction of 115K sf building in Astoria

Kaufman Astoria Studios, on August 19, was issued a temporary certificate of occupancy for construction of a 115,223-square-foot building at 36-02 34th Avenue in Astoria. The building will be occupied by Kaufman Astoria Studios, one of New York City’s largest TV and film production facilities.

The plans, pre-filed on September 2, 2016, call for the construction of a 84-foot tall, four-story building. The time from pre-file to TCO was just under four years.

The project is described in the filings as: filing a four-story new building as per plans filed herewith.

The building will be used for studio and production purposes. It contains several production offices and studios as well an office garage with 138 parking spots.

The M1-5 zoning lots allow developers to build commercial and retail projects on top of standard industrial uses like warehouses and factories.

The property was acquired for $3 million on January 20, 2010.
