Joseph Vogel files to build 66-unit building in Gowanus
Joseph Vogel, on November 15, filed a permit application for construction of a 66-unit, 49,165-square-foot mixed-use building at 288 4th Avenue in Gowanus, Brooklyn.
A burst of development continues in Gowanus, after elected officials and City Hall reached an agreement last week on demands for the Gowanus rezoning, signaling a likely approval in City Council.
There have been 13 new building plans filed in the neighborhood in the previous 12 months, with the majority of those plans coming in recent months.
The plans call for the construction of a 146-foot-tall, 14-story building and were filed with the New York City Department of Buildings under job number B00628878. The development site spans one tax lot.
The project is described in the filing as: construct new 14-story mixed-use building.
According to the plans, the ground floor of the building will have a residential lobby and retail space. The second floor will have four dwelling units, recreation space, and a terrace. Floors three through six will each have six dwelling units per floor, floors seven through 12 will each have five dwelling units per floor, and floors 13 and 14 will each have four dwelling units per floor. The seventh floor will also have a roof terrace.
The architect listed is Fischer Makooi Architects PLLC.
The property was acquired with two other properties for $3 million on March 30, 2017.
