Joseph Safdie files plans to add 24 units to resi building in Tremont
Joseph Safdie, on May 25, filed a permit application for a two-story expansion of a residential building at 1670 Townsend Avenue in Tremont, the Bronx. The project will add 24 dwelling units to the building.
According to city records, Miguel E. Zaruma owns the property, which was purchased for $565,000 on February 3, 2017.
The plans call for the increase in size of the building from a 28-foot tall, two-story building with two dwelling units to a 52-foot tall, four-story building with 26 dwelling units. The plans were filed with the New York City Department of Buildings under number X00527768. The development site spans one tax lot.
The project is described in the filing as: proposing horizontal & vertical enlargement to existing two-story and basement building.
According to the plans, the ground floor of the building will go from one dwelling unit to four dwelling units, while the second floor will go from one dwelling unit to seven dwelling units. The newly constructed third and fourth floors will each have seven dwelling units and the fourth floor penthouse will have one dwelling unit.
