Jing Gao files plans for zoning review for 100-unit condo in Elmhurst

Jing Gao, on May 12, filed a permit application for construction of a 100-unit, 75,124-square-foot condominium at 47-11 90th Street in Elmhurst, Queens. According to the plans the filing is for a zoning review. Developer Bo Jin Zhu of 90 Queens Inc. owns the property.

According to several reports, the plot of land contains a historic African American burial ground. Plans were originally filed for a similar new building in 2018, before being withdrawn last year. Advocacy groups have been attempting to halt any new development at the site by getting the Landmarks Preservation Commission to preserve it.

The plans call for the construction of a 55-foot tall, five-story building, and were filed with the New York City Department of Buildings under number Q00502913. The development site spans one tax lot.

The project is described in the filing as: file for zoning review only, for new five-story condominium building, all associated jobs will be subsequently filed under this application.

According to the plans, the ground floor of the building will have a museum and 16 dwelling units. Floors two through five will each have 21 dwelling units per floor.

5D Architecture & Engineering, PLLC is listed as the architect.

The estimated job cost is $9.7 million.

The property was acquired for $5.8 million on November 30, 2009.
