Jewish school files plans for 56K sf education building in Sheepshead Bay

YDE School, on July 1, filed a permit application for construction of a 56,800-square-foot school building at 2503 Coney Island Avenue in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn. Edward Saff filed the plans.

There have been 11 new building plans filed in the neighborhood, including these, in the previous 12 months.

The plans call for the construction of a 61-foot-tall, five-story building and were filed with the New York City Department of Buildings under job number B00766808.

The development site spans one tax lot. The lot has a width of 136 feet.

The project is described in the filing as: filing for four-story plus penthouse new building, Use group 3A, school. See Comments section, requesting abbreviated review to issue zoning objection for BSA variance.

The ground floor of the building, per the plans, will have a house of worship and school space. The second floor will have a cafeteria, recreation space, and school space. Floors three and four will both have school space. The penthouse will have recreation space.

The architect listed is Hany Rizkalla Architect PLLC.

The property was acquired for $7.2 million on July 7, 2021.
