Help USA fully permitted for 72-unit affordable building in Morrisania

The affordable housing nonprofit Help USA, on September 18, was given a permit for construction of a 72-unit, 55,402-square-foot building at 1210 Simpson Street in Morrisania.

The plans, pre-filed on October 21, 2019, call for the construction of a 75-foot tall, seven-story non-profit institution with dwelling units.

The project is described in the filings as: propose new seven-story plus cellar building as non-profit institution with sleeping accommodations (use group 3a) as per plan. Obtain new c of o.

The plans show that the ground floor of the building will be split between a church, lobby, laundry room, office space, and recreation room. The second floor will have a kitchen, office, youth room, and eight dwelling units. Floors three and four will each have 15 dwelling units, floors five and six will each have 13 dwelling units, and the seventh floor will have eight dwelling units. The building will also have a roof terrace and two parking spaces.

Urban Architectural Initiatives is listed as the architect on the filing.

At the time of filing, reports stated an estimated completion date had not been announced.
