The art gallery Hauser & Wirth, on February 9, was issued a temporary certificate of occupancy for construction of a 31,985-square-foot office building at 542 West 22nd Street in Chelsea. Marc Payot, co-president of Hauser & Wirth, filed the application

The plans, pre-filed on October 7, 2015, call for the construction of a 95-foot tall, five-story gallery. The time from pre-file to TCO was five years and four months.

The project is described in the filings as: construct five-story new building.

Per the plans, the ground floor of the building has a lobby and galleries with office space. The second floor has a book store and more gallery space. The third floor has a showroom and offices. The fourth floor has a workshop and offices, while the fifth floor has more gallery space.

Annabelle Selldorf of Selldorf Architects designed the building.

The company occupies the 7,400-square-foot property through a 42-year-long lease, which they signed for an undisclosed amount.
