Google files plans for a $18.9M rehab at the Milk Building in Chelsea

Google, on April 5, filed plans for a $18.9 million rehabilitation of several floors of the Milk Building at 450 West 15th Street in Chelsea, Manhattan.

The day prior, Google filed plans for a $10 million rehab at the building.

The property was acquired for $591.8 million on May 22, 2019 from Jamestown Properties. The building, known as the Milk Building, is connected to Chelsea Market by a sky bridge. Google purchased the Chelsea Market from Jamestown Properties for $2.5 billion. At the time of the purchase, it was the second largest single sale in the history of NYC.

The plans call for work on floors one through eight of the building and were filed with the New York City Department of Buildings under job number M00645051.

The project is described in the filing as: Mechanical modifications taking place on the cellar, one through eight floors and roof as per plans filed herewith. No change in use, egress or occupancy.
