GFI files second rehab plan at Midtown West hotel this week, this one for $7.5M

GFI Capital, on September 1, filed a permit application for a $7.5 million rehabilitation of several floors of the Parker New York at 119 West 56th Street in Midtown West. The filing comes one day after GFI filed a permit application for a $9 million rehab of the roof, penthouse, and floors 33 through 40 of the hotel.

The newest plans call for a rehab of the cellar and floors one through eight of the 392-foot tall, 40-story, hotel.

The project is described in the filings as: interior demolition and new construction related to the condo construct. Floors per plans filed herewith. No change in occupancy, use or egress. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $7,500,000.

Ancora Engineering is the architect for the project.

GFI purchased the building for $389.9 million on January 23, 2019 in a joint venture with Elliott Management Corp. The duo are planning to convert some of the hotel rooms to condos.
