Fosun finishes $7.7M ground floor rehab at 28 Liberty in FiDi
Fosun International, on February 22, formally completed a $7.7 million rehabilitation of one floor and the cellar of an office building at 28 Liberty Street in Financial District. The building was previously known as One Chase Manhattan Plaza.
The plans, pre-filed on December 18, 2012, call for a rehab of the sub-cellars and ground floor of the 770-foot tall, 60-story building.
The project is described in the filings as: general construction consisting of removal and installation partitions, doors, ceiling, column enclosures, raised floor and shaft enclosure on the first sub cellar and ground floor. There are no changes in use, egress or occupancy. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $4,721,191. The final total was $7.7 million.
HLW International LLP was the architect.
The Chinese conglomerate and investment company outbid a handful of other potential buyers when it acquired the building for $725 million on December 17, 2013.
