Federations of Organizations is fully permitted for 121-unit resi building in Bed-Stuy

The nonprofit Federations of Organizations, on October 14, was given a permit for construction of a 121-unit, 81,648-square-foot residential building at 491 Herkimer Street in Bedford-Stuyvesant.

The plans, pre-filed on April 3, call for the construction of an 81-foot tall, eight-story residential building.

The project is described in the filings as: proposed eight-story and cellar new building that consists of residential (includes affordable independent residences for seniors) and community facility uses (healthcare facility).

The units will be affordable independent residences for seniors, according to the plans. In total, the Urban Architectural Initiatives-designed building will have 90 enclosed parking spaces.

Demolition plans have not yet been filed.
