FBE Limited seeks zoning changes to build 215-unit project in Midwood
Abraham Fruchthandler’s FBE Limited is seeking zoning map and text changes to construct a 156,295-square-foot mixed-use development with 215 dwelling units at 1214 and 1238 East 14th Street in Midwood, Brooklyn.
The plans were disclosed in an application requesting a zoning map amendment from M1-1 and R5 to R7A and a zoning text amendment to designate a Mandatory Inclusionary Housing (MIH) area in order to facilitate the development.
According to the plan, the nine-story mixed-use building will have 146,783-square-feet of residential space and 9,512-square-feet of community facility space. Of the 215 total dwelling units, approximately 54 would be affordable.
The development site would have an address of 1214 and 1238 East 14th Street, occupying Block 6733 and Lots 11 and 21. However, the proposed rezoning area includes several other addresses including portions of two blocks (Block 6733, Lots 11, 21, and 29, and Block 6732, parts of Lots 28, 74 and 75).
FBE Limited through the entity E 14 Realty Holdings LLC paid Edward Farbenblum’s The Lillo Bros. Associates, Inc. $18.1 million for 1214 East 14th Street and 1238 East 14th Street last year.
