Edison Properties files plans to demo 103K sf commercial building in Hell’s Kitchen

Edison Properties, led for years by the late Jerry Gottesman, on July 28, filed a permit application for the demolition of a 103,000-square-foot commercial building at 620 12th Avenue in Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan.

No new building plans have been filed yet at the site. When Edison bought the building for $55 million in 2015, The Real Deal reported that the property had an additional 8,000-square-feet of unused air rights. Gottesman died in 2017.

The developer did not immediately respond to a request for comment regarding the plans for the site.

There have been 10 demolition plans, including these, filed in the neighborhood in the previous 12 months.

The plans call for the demolition of a two-story building.

The project is described in the filings as: full demolition two-story structure, using hand held and mechanical means to assist.

The property was acquired for $55 million on October 26, 2015.
