Durst Organization finishes $2.8M single-floor rehab at Bank of America Tower
Durst Organization, on July 30, formally completed a $2.8 million rehab of one floor of an office building, known as the Bank of America Tower, at 1 Bryant Park in Midtown.
The plans, pre-filed on February 12, 2019, call for a rehab of the seventh floor of the 811-foot tall, 55-story, building.
The project is described in the filings as: modifications to the existing HVAC system as per plans filed herewith. No change to use, egress or occupancy under this application The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $2,750,000.
Bank of America is the primary tenant in the tower, hence the building’s name. The bank occupies six trading floors and 75 percent of the building’s interior, according to the Durst website. Aside from Bank of America, big name tenants include McKool Smith, HBK Investments, SFA Properties, and Marathon Asset Management. Retail tenants include Starbucks, Charlie Palmer Steak and Burger & Lobster. Durst itself is also headquartered in the building.
Earlier this month, Durst completed a $17 million rehab of the fourth floor of the building.
The developer has also been actively filing new renovation plans at the building so far this year. Most notably, on January 30, when plans were filed for a $20 million rehab of third floor. Those plans were permitted the day after they were filed.
