Diocese of Brooklyn finishes $2M rehab of the roof, facade of former St. Robert Bellarmine School

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Brooklyn, on July 20, completed a $2 million rehab of the roof and facade of a building at 56-10 214th Street in Queens.

The plans, pre-filed on May 17, 2019, call for a rehab of the roof and facade of the 30-foot tall, 2-story, building. The plans were permitted on May 17, 2019.

The project is described in the filings as: filing for facade and roof restoration as indicated on drawings. No change to use, egress, or occupancy. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $2,000,000.

On July 24, 2019, plans were filed to change the occupancy classification of the building from a public building to educational. The plans were part of a relocation of P.S. 41 Crocheron’s kindergarten students.

The NYC School Construction Authority finalized its lease for the building at 56-10 214th Street in February 2019.
