Davis Companies permitted for demo to make way for 135K sf storage building in Chelsea

Davis Companies, on April 19, was given a permit for the demolition of a building at 155 West 29th Street in Chelsea.

The plans, pre-filed on June 4, 2020, call for the demolition of a three-story building.

The project is described in the filings as: filing herewith plan for the demolition of a three-story building.

The demolition will clear the way for the developers plan to construct a 135,003-square-foot storage building at the site. According to the plans, the basement and all floors of the building will be used for storage.

The developer paid the Garfinkel family’s Pearl Garfinkel $26 million for a 50 percent stake in the property in March of 2020. Earlier month Davis purchased the second 50 percent of the parcels at 165 West 29th Street and 155 West 29th Street for a total price of $62.5 million.
