David Tabak, Meyer Lebovits propose 267-unit development in Bensonhurst over rail tracks

Meir David Tabak and Meyer Lebovits of ML Estate Holdings through the entity Brooklyn Yards Development, LLC, filed a land use application for a 267-unit, 335,000-square-foot mixed-use project at multiple addresses on or near New Utrecht Avenue in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn. The project envisions 14 individual buildings on three separate tax blocks and includes the address 1557 60th Street.

The application, filed on October 11, 2022 is described as: This is a private application by Brooklyn Yards Development LLC… to facilitate a new 335,000 square foot development including 272,000 square feet of residential development (267 dwelling units), and 64,000 square feet of commercial development over railroad tracks in an area roughly bounded by 14th and 16th Avenues and 59th and 61st Streets in Borough Park, CDs 11 and 12, Brooklyn… Construction of the platform structures would occur over a period of 14 months beginning in mid-2023 and completed by mid-2024. Construction of the Proposed Project is expected to occur in three phases. The first phase, which entails construction of Buildings 1 – 7, would include the portion of the Development Site located on Block 5727 and construction would occur over a period of 22 months beginning in early 2024 and concluding in early 2026. The second phase, which entails construction of Buildings 8 – 12, would include the portion of the Development Site located on Block 5516 and construction would occur over a period of 23 months beginning in early 2026 and concluding in early 2028. The third phase, which entails construction of Buildings 13 and 14, would include the portion of the Development Site located on Block 5509 and construction would occur over a period of 23 months beginning in early 2028 and concluding in early 2030.

The tax blocks are 3057270014, 3055090041, 3055160001, 3055160033 and 3055090057.
