Maverick sues Anthony Lolli over rents: Lender Maverick Real Estate Partners sued property investor and broker Anthony Lolli and the LLC entities tied to four Brooklyn properties at 681 4th Avenue, 700A 5th Avenue, 370 Butler Street and 216 23rd Street. Plaintiff-lender Maverick bought the loans and alleges owner-defendant Anthony Lolli and related entities are withholding tenant rent payments from the lenders, which the complaint says total about $44,000 per month. Investor wanted to buy stake in 17 Gay Street in West Village: A lawsuit alleging a breach of fiduciary duty by a law firm claims the Long Island investment firm SSM Realty sought to invest in the 8-unit rental at 17 Gay Street in the West Village, and deposited $2 million in an IOLA escrow account with the law firm Kossoff PLLC. The law firm under allegedly mysterious circumstances has not returned $1.3 million of that deposit, plus other funds. The apartment building last sold in November 2019 for $1.85 million. LINK
City sues 3 Queens properties over alleged prostitution, gambling: The City of New York filed three separate nuisance lawsuits claiming violations of laws prohibiting prostitution and gambling. The two properties cited for alleged prostitution are 136-39 Roosevelt Avenue in Flushing LINK and 87-37 Britton Avenue in Elmhurst LINK, while the alleged gambling occurred in 46-20 Kissena Boulevard in Flushing. LINK The city in each suit seeks to bar any activity in the portion of the building impacted by the alleged activity for up to a year and fine the owner $1,000 per day.
