City files plans for 76K sf school in Borough Park

New York City School Construction Authority, on February 23, filed a permit application for construction of a 76,883-square-foot school building at 6312 13th Avenue in Borough Park, Brooklyn. C. Colin Albert filed the plans.

The plans call for the construction of an 88-foot tall, five-story building.

The project is described in the filings as: K676 : construction of a five-story educational structure with cellar and bulkhead roof. Zoning and egress analyses also provided. The premises is not on a flood zone district.

According to the plans, the ground floor and second floor will have classroom, storage, and office space. The third floor has classroom space, storage, and a library. The fourth floor will have more classroom, office, and storage space. The fifth floor will have a gym, auditorium, classrooms, offices, and storage. The building’s cellar will have a cafeteria, servery, kitchen, offices, and a locker rooms.

The NYC SCA is also the architect.

No demolition plans have been filed yet.

The property was acquired for $17.5 million on April 30, 2019.
