City files plans for $35M in rehab work at two schools in Brooklyn, Bronx
New York City School Construction Authority, on May 13, filed a permit application for a $22 million exterior rehabilitation of a school building at 1 Wells Street in East New York, Brooklyn.
The plans call for work on the basement, roof, and all floors of the 85-foot tall, five-story building.
The project is described in the filings as: roof replacement and repair, masonry replacement and repair. Bricks, parapets and lintels replacement. Interior plaster repair and painting, excavate and provide a waterproofing membrane liner at foundation walls for flood elimination. As per plans filed herewith, no change in use, egress or occupancy. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $22,000,000.
The NYC SCA is also the architect listed.

On the same day, The NYC SCA filed a permit application for a $13 million exterior rehab of a school building at 1425 Walton Avenue in Tremont, the Bronx.
The plans call for work on cellar, roof, and all floors of the 75-foot tall, five-story building.
The project is described in the filings as: X064-replacement of roofs, parapets, windows, bulkhead doors and certain exit doors. Exterior masonry repairs. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $13,000,000.
The NYC SCA was again the architect listed.
The SCA has been filing plans for several rehab projects to schools around the city recently. Earlier this month plans were filed for an $8.5 million rehabilitation of the exterior of a school building at 40 Division Street in Chinatown.
