City files $7.5M plans to go from oil to gas in Williamsburg school
The New York City School Construction Authority, on February 9, filed a permit application for a $7.5 million project which will convert oil boilers to gas in a school building at 250 Berry Street in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
The plans call for a replacement of oil boilers in the 54-foot tall, three-story building.
The project is described in the filings as: replacement of oil boilers with new gas boilers including removals. New ventless pilot gas trains, duplex vacuum pumps, boiler feed unit including tank and pumps, combustion air louvers, motorized dampers, steam trap assembly, piping and ductwork. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $7,500,000.
The school, known as PS 84 José de Diego, serves approximately 800 students from Pre-Kindergarten through Eighth grade, in Williamsburg.
