City files $10M plans to go from oil to gas in Parkchester school

New York City School Construction Authority, on December 29, filed a permit application for a $10 million project to convert a school building from oil to gas at 1560 Purdy Street in Parkchester, the Bronx.

The plans call for work on the basement, roof, and all floors of the 47-foot tall, three-story building.

The project is described in the filings as: remove three existing oil fired boilers with associated parts and breeching and climate controls, chemical and boiler feeds. Replace with three new gas fired boilers and all associated parts, breeching, climate controls, new chimney liner, chemical and boiler feeds, blow down piping. As per plans filed herewith. No change in use, egress or occupancy. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $10,000,000.

NYCSCA is also listed as the architect for the project.
