George Xu’s Century Development permitted to demolish LIC building bought in January

George Xu’s Century Development Group, on September 14, was given a permit for the demolition of an 11,620-square-foot building at 37-24 33rd Street in Long Island City. Xu only recently acquired the property, paying $13 million for it on January 6, 2020.

The plans, pre-filed on January 15, 2020, call for the demolition of a building.

The project is described in the filings as: this job is filed for demolition of one-story commercial building.

The building was previously occupied by an interior foliage design and retail flower shop.

No new building plans have been filed yet, and it is not clear what Xu plans to do with the property yet.
