CAVU Property Group filed three New York City Department of Buildings new building plans for three parcels in Long Island City. The firm purchased two of the lots in June 2025 for a total of $34 million. The third lot, with an address 32-08 38th Avenue, does not yet reflect a sale on public property records, but CAVU states in the filing its entity is the owner.
For all three projects, Steven Hurwitz of CAVU submitted the plans, and the architect is JFA Architects & Engineers.
In the first, CAVU Property Group through the entity Nostrand Land LLC submitted a new building construction project for an 87-unit, 81,123 square-foot residential (R-2) building at 38-10 33rd Street in Long Island City, Queens. The plan was filed with the New York City Department of Buildings on August 4, 2025 under job number Q01261026. It calls for the construction of a 13-story building. The project is described in the filing as: proposed thirteen story residential building, total of 87 dwelling units.
In the second, CAVU Property Group through the entity Nostrand Land LLC submitted a new building construction project for an 84-unit, 82,274 square-foot residential (R-2) building at 38-11 32nd Street in Long Island City, Queens. The plan was filed with the New York City Department of Buildings on August 4, 2025 under job number Q01261008. It calls for the construction of a 13-story building. The project is described in the filing as: thirteen-story residential building with 84 dwelling units.
In the third, CAVU Property Group through the entity Nostrand Land LLC submitted a new building construction project for an 82-unit, 78,510 square-foot residential (R-2) building at 32-08 38th Avenue in Long Island City, Queens. The plan was filed with the New York City Department of Buildings on August 4, 2025 under job number Q01261032. It calls for the construction of a nine-story building. The project is described in the filing as: proposed 9-story mixed use building with 82 dwelling units.

The most recent of the two was CAVU Property Group which bought the 30,000-square-foot, one-unit industrial (F9) on 38-18 33rd Street for $18.5 million from Jay Kestenbaum on July 9, 2025. Of those nine items, four were loans above $5 million totaling $103 million.
