Brookfield files plans for $25M renovation to Jane Street Capital floors at Brookfield Place

Brookfield Properties, on May 11, filed two permit applications totaling $25 million for renovations to four floors of an office building at 250 Vesey Street in Battery Park City, including space leased by tenant Jane Street Capital.

The plans call for work on floors four, six, seven, and eight of the 473-foot tall, 33-story, building.

The first project is described in the filings as: interior renovation to include construction of new partitions and finishes as shown on plans. No changes to use, egress, or occupancy. (Jane Street – 4th, 7th and 8th floors.)

The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $15,833,843.

The second project is described in the filings as: interior renovation to include demolition and construction of new partitions and finishes as shown on plans. No changes to use, egress, or occupancy. (Jane Street 6th floor.) The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $9,423,313.

In July of 2014, Jane Street Capital signed a 15-year lease for a portion of the fourth floor as well as the entire fifth and sixth floors.

The floors had previously been occupied by Merrill Lynch, who had occupied over half of Brookfield Place’s five towers before moving out.
