Blumenfeld receives TCO for 233-unit Bjarke Ingels-designed rental in East Harlem
Blumenfeld Development Group, on August 31, was issued a temporary certificate of occupancy for construction of a 233-unit, 275,566-square-foot mixed-use building, known as Gotham East 126th Residential, at 149 East 125th Street in East Harlem.
The plans, pre-filed on December 18, 2014, call for the construction of a 120-foot tall, 11-story mixed-use building. The time from pre-file to TCO was five years and nine months.
The project is described in the filings as: new building: 11-story mixed-use facility, as per plans filed herewith.
According to the plans filed, the cellar of the building has a total of 118 parking spaces. The ground floor has a residential lobby, leasing office, and nursing school space. The second floor also has nursing school space and an auditorium. The third floor has an exercise room, steam and sauna rooms, and 12 dwelling units. The fourth floor has staff locker rooms, storage rooms, an exercise rooms, kitchen, residential living rooms, reading rooms, and 12 dwelling units. The fifth floor has 21 dwelling units with private terraces. floors six through nine each have 33 dwelling units, and floors 10 and 11 each have 28 units. Floors six through 11 also each have laundry rooms. The roof provides a swimming pool, dining area, and residential deck.
According to reports 20 percent of the units will lease for below-market rates through the housing lottery.
Bjarke Ingels Group was the architect for the development.
