Asland Capital, Pembroke permitted for 154-unit building in central Bronx

Asland Capital Partners and Pembroke, on July 29, was given a permit for construction of a 154-unit, 101,351-square-foot residential building at 1940 Turnbull Avenue in Unionport, Bronx. Joshua Siegel filed the plans.

The development, which aims to be completed in the fall of 2024, will be for seniors aged 62 years or older, with 30 percent of the units going to seniors who were formerly homeless.

According to reports, project partners include Asland, Pembroke, the Urban Investment Group within Goldman Sachs Asset Management , New York State Homes and Community Renewal, and New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development.

The developer recently signed a rehab construction loan with lender New York State Housing Finance Agency and the City of New York valued at $77.3 million for the development.

Below are zoning diagrams of the development.

The plans, pre-filed on May 5, 2020, call for the construction of a 145-foot tall, 14-story building.

Per the plans, the ground floor of the building will have a lobby and recreation room. The dwelling units will span the upper floors of the building.
