Arker Companies receives TCO for 200-unit mixed-use building, part of 1,169-unit ‘The Fountains’
Alex Arker’s Arker Companies, on November 19, was issued a temporary certificate of occupancy for construction of a 200-unit, 164,429-square-foot mixed-use building at 10 Schroeders Walk in East New York, Brooklyn.
The plans, pre-filed on June 21, 2017, call for the construction of a 75-foot tall, seven-story mixed-use building. The time from pre-file to TCO was three years and five months.
The project is described in the filings as: new mixed-use seven-story building.
The ground floor has commercial space and parking space, according to the plans. The second floor has a laundry room, outdoor recreation area, office space, and 33 dwelling units. Floors three through five each have 44 dwelling units per floor, while floors six through seven each have 17 dwelling units per floor.
Aufgang Architects was the architect.
The building is part of an eight-building, 1,169-unit, 1.2-million-square-foot affordable housing development, known as The Fountains, which when fully complete will occupy a 6.7-acre plot of land.
Arker Companies purchased the property from New York State for $10 million. The Brooklyn Developmental Center formally occupied part of the site.
