$5.6M rehab of industrial building completed in Co-op City

On August 4, a $5.6 million rehabilitation of one floor of an industrial building was completed at 98 Co-op City Boulevard in Morrisania.

The plans, pre-filed on May 29, 2015 by Riverbay Corporation, the corporate entity that manages Co-op City, call for a rehab of the ground floor of the 55-foot tall, 2-story, building.

The project is described in the filings as: dismantling and removal of the existing equipment and installation of new boiler no. 2 with associated equipment and piping. Under this application, no change in use, egress, and occupancy. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $5,550,000.

Co-op City is a cooperative housing development located in the Bronx. The complex was developed by the nonprofit United Housing Foundation and opened its first units in 1968.
