The board of 760 Park Avenue is suing to terminate the first-floor proprietary lease owned by Leslie Modell, the daughter of the late William Modell, a top executive of the sporting goods chain Modell’s Sporting Goods. He died in 2008. She owns the proprietary lease for the first-floor residential unit in the building where apartments have sold for as much as $16.4 million. The board alleges multiple water leaks over the years and detailed other causes of action for the eviction. The New York Post reported on a 2017 gas leak issue, and at the time Modell told the publication “She flatly denied causing a problem in the building,” NY Post reported. There is a third-floor apartment listed for sale for $8.25 million, which is the entire floor. The Modell apartment is not the entire floor, as it shares ground floor space with professional units and the lobby. LINK
