KIPP charter school pays $21.7M to Victor Weingarten for industrial in Mott Haven

The charter school KIPP through the entity Canal West 75, LLC paid $21.7 million to Victor Weingarten through the entity 75 Csw Realty LLC for industrial (G9) at 75 Canal Street West in Mott Haven, Bronx.
The deal closed on May 27, 2021 and was recorded on June 29, 2021.
The property has 12,194 square feet of built space and 156,089 square feet of additional air rights for a total buildable of 168,200 square feet according to PincusCo analysis of city data. The sale price per built square foot is $1,779 and the price per buildable square foot is $129 per the PincusCo analysis.
The seller bought the property in April 2011 for $8.7 million.
The signatory for Victor Weingarten was Victor Weingarten. The signatory for KIPP was Alicia Johnson.

Commercial Observer reported that Kipp charter school was looking to buy the site in April. Alicia Johnson is the director of operations at KIPP.
Within a 400-foot radius of 75 Canal Street West, PincusCo identified one commercial real estate item of interests occurred over the past 24 months.
It was a new building permit application filed on June 29, 2020 for a 76,486-square-foot building at 199 East 135th Street.
