Horizon Group buys Bushwick development site from Cheskie Weisz and roofing supply company
David Marom’s Horizon Group along with Joseph Riegler paid Joel Fishkind’s Standard Tinsmith & Roofer Supply Corporation $11.5 million for 333-335 Irving Avenue in Bushwick. The deal closed on November 12, 2019, and was recorded on November 18, 2019. But that may not be the full sale price, because the deal likely involved a contract flip.
The Real Deal reported in May 2018 that Cheskie Weisz’s CW Realty had purchased the property for $11.5 million, but no transfer was recorded at the time. However, the property went into contract in April 2018 and it’s possible Weisz then assigned the contract to Horizon, which closed on the purchase of the property for an unknown price above the $11.5 million contract price. Weisz had filed plans for 70,000-square-foot mixed-use building in March 2019. Marom owns a 95.5 percent stake in the new venture and Riegler a 4.5 percent stake, in a tenant-in-common structure, city records show.
Over the past five years, there has been one NYC Department of Buildings permit application filed for this parcel valued at more than $20,000. Of those there was one major renovation application including a certificate of occupancy change (A1) filed with a total estimated value of $100.
