Hope Street Capital amends contract to purchase Seventh-day Adventist land in Crown Heights
Hope Street Capital through the entity 959 Sterling Partners LLC signed an amended contract with the Northeastern Conference of the Seventh-day Adventists to purchase the southern portion of the parcel 920 Park Place in Crown Heights. The parcel to be acquired has the address 959 Sterling Place. The memorandum was signed on November 14, 2019 and was recorded on November 26, 2019. This is the fifth amendment to the contract which was originally signed in 2017. The sale is expected to be executed before December 31, 2020, according to the document. Hope Street is buying a newly created parcel with the tax lot number 70 on the southern portion of the existing tax lot.
A contractor filed plans in October 2018 to build a 201-unit residential building on the parcel.
Over the past five years, there have been 2 NYC Department of Buildings permit applications filed for this parcel valued at more than $20,000. Of those there was one major renovation application including a certificate of occupancy change (A1) filed with a total estimated value of $150,000.There has been one new building permit application totaling 188,826 square feet. Those plans include a total of 201 residential units.
