Helm Equities files to demo East Flatbush corner retail
Helm Equities, on August 9, filed a permit application for the demolition of a retail building at 1925 Flatbush Avenue in East Flatbush, Brooklyn.
Helm Equities is a subsidiary of JEMB Realty run by Ayal Horovits and partner David Escava, who filed the plans. The building is the former location of the now-closed After Dark Sports Bar and Lounge, which occupied the 3,100-square-foot building. The lot is 2,550 square feet at the corner of Flatbush Avenue and Overbaugh Place. The parcel is adjacent to a stand-alone Starbucks.
There are no new building plans filed at the site, which was acquired for $1.7 million on November 20, 2014.
The plans call for the demolition of a two-story building.
The project is described in the filings as: full demolition of existing two-story commercial building as per plan.
