Fosun finishes a $4M multi-floor rehab at 28 Liberty

Fosun International Limited, on July 30, formally completed a $4.1 million rehabilitation of two floors of an office building at 28 Liberty Street in the Financial District.

The plans, pre-filed on May 6, 2019, call for a rehab of the 33rd and 34th floors of the 770-foot tall, 60-story, building. The plans received their initial permits the day after they were filed.

The project is described in the filings as: interior renovations as per plans filed herewith. No change to use, egress, or occupancy. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $4,111,300.

John F. Giuseffi, Architect, PC, was responsible for the rehab, per the plans filed.

The Chinese conglomerate and investment company, that outbid half a dozen other potential buyers when it acquired the building for $725 million on December 17, 2013, has filed 12 renovation plans at the property so far this year.

Earlier this month it completed a $6.4 million exterior renovation to the ground floor and cellar of the 2.2 million-square-foot building. That rehab was done by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill.
