Fast-expanding grocer Lidl pays $9.1M to Thomas Costa for site in Staten Island
The fast-growing German discount grocer Lidl through the entity LUS Licensing, LLC paid Thomas Costa’s 2846 Partners, LLC $9.1 million for a parcel at the corner of Tompkins Avenue and Chestnut Avenue in Staten Island. The deal closed on August 21, 2020, and was recorded on August 31, 2020. The transaction consists of a portion of one parcel, including the tax class land not zoned residential or Manhattan below 110th Street (V1).
The German discount supermarket chain Lidl opened its 100th location in the United States in May.
The last time the property sold was March 1, 2019, for $3,000,000. The transfer did not provide an address, but the parcel is at the intersection of Tompkins Avenue and Chestnut Avenue. The transfer document said it was for a portion of lot 12, not the entire lot.
