Eric Chan files plans to demolish 14.5K sf commercial building in Chinatown

Eric Chan through the company HWCC Realty Corp., on June 16, filed a permit application for the demolition of a 14,500-square-foot mixed-use commercial building at 6 Chatham Square in Chinatown, Manhattan.

According to the plans, this is a Department of Environmental Protection controlled demolition due to the building being in unsafe conditions.

No new building plans have been filed yet. It is unclear what the plans for the site are.

HWCC Realty Corp. has owned the building since the 1980s.

The plans call for the demolition of a four-story building.

The project is described in the filings as: full demolition of four story structure. This is controlled demolition as per DEP, due to unsafe building conditions.
