Davis Companies pays $36.5M for other 50% of Chelsea dev site
Davis Companies through the entity Div West 29th Street, LLC paid Abraham Moshel’s Amush Enterprises, LLC $36.5 million for 165 West 29th Street and 155 West 29th Street in Chelsea. The deal closed on March 25, 2021 and was recorded on April 1, 2021. The transaction consists of 2 parcels, including the tax class retail building with apartments above (K4).
This is Davis Companies purchase of the second 50% of the parcels for a total price of $62.5 million or $463 per square foot. It filed plans in July 2020 for a 135,000-square-foot storage building. Davis paid $26 million to members of the Garfinkel family for the first 50% stake in March 2020 for $26 million.
The contract date for this second purchase was January 29, 2020. The contact for the first purchase was signed about a month earlier, on December 26, 2019.
Over the past five years, there has been one NYC Department of Buildings permit application filed for this parcel valued at more than $20,000.
There has been one demolition project filed for the parcels over the past five years.
