Courts roundup: Mattone Group battles brother; two pre-foreclosures totaling $7.9M

Mattone Group sues brother Carl Mattone for $1M: Managing executive Michael Mattone as a representative of the company Mattone Group filed a suit seeking $1 million from his brother Carl Mattone, alleging he obstructed with the refinancing of the family’s ground-leased shopping center at 134-40 Springfield Boulevard. The property was refinanced in August 2021 with $30 million loan from Bethpage Federal Credit Union. He alleges his brother Carl impeded the refinancing of the property, and is seeking $1 million. The suit provided examples of alleged disruptive or violent personal incidents that narrate a toxic relationship between Carl and other members of the family. LINK
