Columbia University finishes $5M rehab of the cellar of a campus building in Morningside Heights

Columbia University, on July 16, completed a $5 million rehab of the cellar of a campus building, known as Schapiro CEPSR, at 530 West 120th Street in Morningside Heights.

The plans, per-filed on May 19, 2015, call for a rehab of the cellar of the 164-foot tall, 12-story, building. The plans were permitted on May 19, 2015

The project is described in the filings as: this application is filed for the replacement of three (3) burners. The initial cost as reported in the DOB filing for the work described in this permit application is $5,000,000.

The Schapiro CEPSR building is used as a school building for physics and the School of Engineering & Applied Science. It was constructed in 1992.
